I see you (Hindi Bollywood Movie)

I See YouI won’t be talking of “I See You (I See You)”:http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0489085/ (yet to be released in India). I would have not written an article for a mediocre movie like “I See You (I See You)”:http://www.nowrunning.com/news/news.asp?it=8959 if not for the sweet, cute and sizzling Vipasha Agarwal.

The Movie is a romantic story of a man (Raj Jaiswal played by Arjun Rampal) who falls in love with a woman who can be seen just by him. She is in coma and her half dead spirit walks around, meets Raj, falls in love – then woman (Shivani played by Vipasha Agarwal) recovers from Coma, fail to recognize him. The movie is set in London.

Arjun Rampal’s first venture as a producer stars himself as the main character, a handsome, flirtatious host of a television show *British Raj*. He is a casanova kinda guy who flirts with any beautiful women he encounters and is never serious of them. Industry friends like Shah Rukh Khan (you’ll see him with a Guitar in the London street) and Hrithik Roshan makes a cameo during the first song sequence.

India’s unmanned mission to the moon by 2010

News agencies reports that, “India plans to launch a capsule (Chandryaan-1) into orbit early next year and bring it back to Earth, an initial step towards an unmanned mission to the moon by 2010.” The Indian Space Research Organization (ISRO) will launch a 50-Kg Capsule and then have it re-enter and splash into the Bay of Bengal after 15 to 30 days of orbit around the earth. It is an expansion in policy from projects meant to aid national development to a growing interest in space exploration. The ISRO is also planning to send an unmanned mission to Mars by 2013 to look for evidence of life. The six-to-eight-month mission, would cost three billion Indian Rupees (~US$67 million).

Babel, a gripping movie

BabelLet me warn you, it is such a real life like, utterly disturbing movie. I almost puke on couple of scenes. I continued to “Babel (Babel)”:http://www.paramountvantage.com/babel/ after about a hour break after finishing up “Bhagam Bhag (Bhagam Bhag)”:http://ojustme.com/2006/12/bhagam-bhag/ and it erased away all the laughs and fun that was with Bhagam Bhag.

We watched “Babel (Babel)”:http://www.paramountvantage.com/babel/ yesterday at a Preview Release screening at Fun Republic. It is being released India Wide today. The movie is about confusion over different languages, the inability to communicate effectively between different languages. “The whole earth was of one language, and of one speech … Come, let us build us a city and a tower whose top may reach unto heaven … And the Lord came down to see the city and the tower which the children of men built … Come, let Us go down, and there confound their language, that they may not understand one another’s speech.” — from Genesis 11.1-9

Bhagam Bhag

Bhagam BhagWell, personally I feel that Priyadarshan have rushed and have run faster than he should to get more fun, humor to the Indian cinegoers. He have definitely lost that “Hera Pheri (Hera Pheri)”:http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0242519/ charm, the “Hungama (Hungama)”:http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0371735/ fun. “Bhagam Bhag (Bhagam Bhag)”:http://www.bhagambhagthefilm.com/ was not a bad movie at all, it was good enough to take away your tiresome day with the we-all-know-what-is-coming jokes, humor and getups. Bhagam Bhag tries to be the typical Priyadarshan’s embedded laughter amidst a riot, a confusion. The movie is good for a quick laugh, nothing beyond that and is not worth a second watch. The movie fail again with the fact that it is messy, cluttered, unclean, stupid situations. Or may be that is what the movie’s intend was all about.

Happy Feet

Happy FeetI wanted to see this movie with my niece – “Nishita (Nishita)”:http://www.flickr.com/photos/nishitaoinam/. I knew she would enjoy the “Penguins (Penguins)”:http://www.brajeshwar.com/documents/penguin/. We decided against the idea of the “Imax Dome at Wadala (Imax Dome at Wadala)”:http://www.adlabsmultiplex.com/, Mumbai lest she started running around like she did watching “Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire (Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire)”:http://www.harrypotter.com/, shouting that she is faster than Harry. It is still the BIG TV for her with other Movie Theaters. We saw “Happy Feet (Happy Feet)”:http://www2.warnerbros.com/happyfeet/ today at Fun Republic, Mumbai and she enjoyed a lot – shouting along, singing and even some step dances inside the hall.

Happy Feet is treated like any other Film and not just another animation movie, it is a real movie. There were enough humor to keep the parents attention alive while entertaining the kids with the musical beat and the foot tapping numbers. Happy Feet is set on an environmental conservation theme cinematically displayed to us in a poetic fashion. If you have seen March of the Penguins (a narrative by Morgan Freeman), this is like that but with lots of color, music and sound. Incidentally, I watched “March of the Penguins (March of the Penguins)”:http://wip.warnerbros.com/marchofthepenguins/ on Christmas eve last year.

I’d prefer Vodafone over Reliance in the Hutch Takeover

HutchCouple of days back, news was that “Reliance Communications (Reliance Communications)”:http://www.reliancecommunications.co.in/ was interested in “Hutch-Essar (Hutch-Essar)”:http://hutch.in/. Being a _Gold Member_ of Hutch (erstwhile Orange in Mumbai) since 2000, I was not really happy to hear the news and wish that “Reliance Communications (Reliance Communications)”:http://www.reliancecommunications.co.in/ do not take it up on their stride.

Now, the news is of Vodafone’s interest and their talks for acquiring Hutchison Telecom’s stake in Hutch-Essar which is a much better news than the Reliance-Hutch one. It is also a good news to know that initial talks with Vodafone and equity funds led by TPG have advanced, while the discussion with others are still preliminary in nature. The Indian media is also abuzz with reports and speculation that Hutchison Telecommunications International Limited (HTIL) has received 5 bids – from “Reliance Communications (Reliance Communications)”:http://www.reliancecommunications.co.in/, Vodafone, Malaysia’s Maxis, Egypt’s Orascom and even Essar that holds 33% stake in the venture. HTIL has mandated Goldman Sachs for the sale of its stake in the India venture, whose enterprise value is being estimated about $18 billion.

Why should we leave Work and go Home on time

Narayana MurthyMr. Narayana Murthy, Chairman of “Infosys Technologies Limited (Infosys Technologies Limited)”:http://www.infy.com/, is known not just for building the biggest IT empire in India but also for his simplicity. He founded Infosys in 1981 along with six other software professionals. He is incidentally, one of the top 50 Influential people of Asia according to an “Asiaweek (Asiaweek)”:http://www.asiaweek.com/ publication and also the new IT Advisor to the Thailand Prime Minister.

_Below is an excerpt from an interesting speech he delivered during an employee session with another IT company in India._

I know people who work 12 hours a day, six days a week, or more. Some people do so because of a work emergency where the long hours are only temporary. Other people I know have put in these hours for years. I don’t know if they are working all these hours, but I do know they are in the office this long. Others put in long office hours because they are addicted to the workplace.

The new Awesome Amazing Digg

Yesterday, ever since afternoon, I took my time off from the Internet and the Computer to spend more time with the family – laughing, tea, tv, walk, etc. Today, I saw Digg with all its new glory. The Digg Blog have an elaborate article – “New Digg Features O’Plenty (New Digg Features O’Plenty)”:http://blog.digg.com/?p=57.

Of course, with the booming popularity of Videos on the Internet, it was eventual for Digg to come up with a separate section for it – “Digg Videos (Digg Videos)”:http://digg.com/videos. They’ve also added a section dedicated to Audio – “Digg Podcasts (Digg Podcasts)”:http://digg.com/podcasts. What about a Digg Photos? I am sure with the popularity of Photos on the internet now-a-days, it would not be a bad idea to have a section for Photos. (They seem to be updating their server, it is very erratic on the daytime on my side of the world (INDIA).)

The missing piece is that I can no longer see *Diggers who have Befriended me* and I am left with just my friends. This will stop me from reciprocating friendship who have befriended me.
