Mumbai Blast - 7/11 puts off Blogspot.com

During the rush hour office timing on the faithful day of 11th of July, 2006 Mumbai was rocked by Multiple Bomb Blast on the Western Lines of its lifeline - the Local Train. Besides the many consequences, numerous deads, injured and many episodes associated with it, one thing the government did was to block many websites. One of the site blocked was Blogspot. Nonthless, Blogger remain functional.

Blogspot is a huge site with many bloggers blogging each day, hour, minutes. The justification given by the government is that emails are easy to monitor but not websites/blogs. Terrorists have improvised themselves and use sorta encrypted messages in the form of blog post to communicate. For my own security, I will not spell few of the blogspot blogs that the government have specifically mentioned which they believed are the blogs of terrorists. Well, instead of blocking few of these sites, the ISPs have totally blocked the whole of blogspot which let to the majority of innocent bloggers being shunted.

Well, if you remember, India blocked Yahoogroups before as few of the groups are suspected to be indulged by terrorists. Well, it is the similar case here, because of few blogs, the whole of blogspot.com is down in India.

Try reading it through http://www.pkblogs.com/labnol by replacing “labnol” with the blog name “xyz” of a blog like http://xyz.blogspot.com/. This was originally created for Pakistanis blog readers when blogspot was banned there.
