When the going gets tough, the tough gets going

BharatnatyamI was coming back from my dance rehearsals when a good friend called to tell me about when our M.A.(psychology) exams were slated. To my horror, these dates clashed with my M.F.A.(masters in Bharatanatyam). The probability that the dates would clash was too little and insignificant. For a while I didn’t know how to react to this news. My friend did know that I would be shocked.

There was so much I had to do. For the masters in dance, I had to make 4 journals, 3 projects and 2 assignments. Whoever thought dance would involve so much paper work! These volumes of work were taking up all my study time. I was getting nervous by the day.

Life in a… Metro

I caught up with this movie after almost the whole of the world watched it, never the less.

Life in a… Metro is a movie about a Metropolis like Mumbai (as the name of the movie suggests). This movie tells us a few stories that are neatly woven together. Directed by Anurag Basu and music by Pritam, the movie stars Kay Kay Menon, Shilpa Shetty, Konkana Sen Sharma, Irfan Khan, Shiney Ahuja, Sharman Joshi and Kangana Ranaut.

Main Madhuri Dixit Banna Chahti Hoon

The English version of the above Hindi Phrase reads “I want to become Madhuri Dixit.”

I must admit that I have always been a very big fan of Madhuri right from days immemorial. So to watch her again some time soon is really exciting. I watched her on Koffee with Karan this Sunday. She looked stunning! I mean after all she is a mother of two boys; and yet she looked gorgeous on the show. Agreed that she doesn’t look like she did in her films in the 90′s but what the heck! She still has those mesmerizing eyes and the 22-carat smile that can illuminate any dull moment.

Fantastic Four: Rise of the Silver Surfer

Fantastic Four: Rise of the Silver SurferA short one and half hour movie, the silver surfer rises, does the damage and then repent his mistake; save planet earth from Galactus – the energy eating thingy. I missed the movie release as I was vacationing. The movie wasn’t that good but good enough to spend some time enjoying the special effects of which again were nothing new.

Here, Reed Richards (Ioan Gruffudd) and Sue Storm (Jessica Alba) are trying to get married but are unable to escape the media glare nor of the global cry for help from them. On one such occassion while they were about to get married, a supernatural-alike force was on its way to destroy planet earth. Water solidifies on a Japanese Sea, snow falls in the Egyptian desert. On the fateful day of Marriage, Johnny Storm aka Human Torch (Chris Evans) chased and encounters the Silver Surfer (voice of Laurence Fishburne and character by Doug Jones) who surfs a board. The silver surfer is a servant of the villain Galactus, which devours and destroys planets to take away their thermal energy.

Ocean’s Thirteen

Ocean's ThirteenThe 1960s style – those funky music, split screen and eve the end credit – Ocean’s Thirteen is not really for the common cinema viewers but those real Cinema Enthusiast. Personally, I find Ocean’s series deteriorating since Eleven.

Willie Bank (Al Pacino) double crosses Reuben Tishkoff (Elliott Gould) in a Casino Deal. Reuben suffers a heart attack, the rest of the Ocean’s family finds out, feels bad and they plan to take revenge; then the movie follows.
