Alright, the hoopla about the marriage was hugely exaggerated, media banked on it even if they were allowed neither inside Prateeksha nor Jalsa (both residences of the Bachchans). Forgetting about the event, I mistakenly drove along that road on my way home on the 18th April (the sangeet day) and I had to face the snarling traffic amongst the frenzy of fans, and onlookers gathering around the Bachchan’s home in Juhu.
Well, the Abhishek - Aishwarya is supposedly one of the high profile marriage in India till date. The marriage cost was estimated over 4 crore Indian Rupee or about a million US dollar. The marriage took place in the residences of Amitabh Bachchan in Mumbai (INDIA) on 20th April, 2007. The irony of a Showman like Amitabh Bachan was that he decided to keep the marriage totally out of the media and public glare. It was restricted to just immediate families, relatives and very close friends of the industry. Abhishek Bachan is 31 and Aishwarya 33 years old.
Well, the marriage is not what intrigue me but the fact that we have only one single incident that came out against Abhishek. And nothing from Aishwarya’s side? It looks like Aishwarya is old and her male fans seems to have gone for fresher, younger flesh. Of course, she is now 33 years old and is now too un-appropriate to be pin-up posters for the boy’s bedroom. It was surprising that none of her fan came out to slashed his wrist or write letters in blood or stalk in front of her house or claimed that he married her.
Of course, Abhishek have something to rejoice - multi-named lady sprang up to the media claiming that he promised to marry her but finally ditched her for Aishwarya. Ok, let’s forget the fact that she is no match for Aishwarya and is nowhere beautiful nor good looking. A 26 year (double check that, we’re not sure) old Jahnavi Kapoor aka Naina Rizvi aka Haya cut her wrist in front of Prateeksha. Naina claimed that Abhishek, whom she met on the sets of the movie Dus, had promised to marry her and she even points to gestures that they had a sexual relationship. Well, she was arrested and later on released on bail. Nobody believed her and everyone knows the publicity stunt act but that’s it.
So, no more incidents? After all, Abhishek and Aishwary are not that crazed by their fans as hyped!

It is rumored in the media circle that, Abhishesk-Aishwarya Wedding rights are being sold to a UK TV Channel Travel & Living for Rs. 5 crore. Well, that’s pretty cheap, it as compared to other celebrity marriage rights being sold to Media Channels. It is just about $1.15 million. This is perhaps one of its first kind in the history of Bollywood.
2007 April 26 –
Amitabh Bachchan have denied all reports about the alleged selling of Right of his son’s Wedding details to a TV Channel. He further adds that he will not sell it at any cost.
