Titled War in the US, Rogue Assassin was released last week here in India. Well, the movie was a waste of time and senseless killings, violence and wasted actions.
We’ve seen good movies like The One with Jet Li and Jason Statham in the lead. The movie was pretty good. This time, the two actors face each other again in Rogue Assassin, only to be swayed by a senseless plot – Chinese Triad (it looks like this Triad story really works for Hollywood, remember Rush Hour 3!), Vengeance, Loyalty, San Francisco, Tokyo – whatever.
Devon Aoki’s (that lethal lady from Sin City) role as the Yakuza’s daughter was wasted in the movie other than just being eye candy.
Jack Crawford (Jason Statham), with his usual tough character role, plays FBI agent having a hard time trying to negotiate life after his partner was killed by Rogue (Jet Li). After three years, he chances upon an incident where he found the usual bullet-signature of Rogue entangled in a gang-war between Japanese Yakuza, Shiro (Ryo Ishibashi) and Chinese Triad boss, Chang (John Lone); Jack decides to nail Rogue once and for all.
The final installment of the twist in the story is damn stupid and funny, sounds more like Bollywood. If you haven’t seen the movie, you can very well forget it and wait for it on TV.
