I love to watch Hollywood movies dubbed in Hindi for the sheer fun of listening to the dialogues. Alright, won’t you laugh if Fuck You becomes Hey Ram in Hindi, and many other english slangs, specially the hollywood ones that won’t be that soothing for the Hindi counterpart.

Now, the great news is that the upcoming Spider-man 3 will be dubbed in Bhojpuri besides Hindi, Tamil, Telegu and will be released on the same day on 4th May, 2007. Wow, this is the new pinnacle of the development of Media & Entertainment in India. I would seriously love to hear Spider-man talking in the typical Bihar’s Bhojpuri while spinning his web. Won’t it be a rhythm of acoustic masala?

Ravi Kishen, who came to the public limelight after his Big Boss stint (the Indian equivalent of Big Brother), will speak Bhojpuri for Peter Parker aka Spider-man. This is the first historical Hollywood movie to be dubbed in Bhojpuri and will cost about Rs. 3 crore (about $0.69 million US). The dubbing will start tomorrow (Saturday) and will be completed well in time to be released alongside the English version. Spider-man 3 is expected to have between 50 to 60 Bhojpuri print; that’s freaking awesome.

Honestly, I don’t know how to react to this! On the hot breath, this is a good, prosperous development and on the colder exhale this is hilarious – Hollywood characters speaking Bhojpuri. I thought my cousins were kidding when they told me about the same few days back. I am pretty sure the Coolies at the Railway Stations will watch Spider-man 3 again and again like they did with the Bollywood movie – Coolie. Way to go India, my best wishes!
