I knew something was wrong with the picture - “it isn’t supposed to be this bold yet in the city of Mumbai.” Well, the Lee Cooper hoarding which shows a girl showing off her Panty (the denim was barely seen) was taken down from the Indralok Building, Lokhanwala, Andheri (W), Mumbai (INDIA).
It was Tuesday afternoon and I was on my way to replace my front License Plate as some kid had broken it while playing cricket in the colony (no, no, cricket is not yet banned in Mumbai yet). When I turned around the Lokhanwala circle, I saw the huge hoarding and I felt, something is not right about this. I reached for my camera and took two shots while trying to negotiate the building traffic at that afternoon hour.
The hoarding was removed as the people have registered many complaints filed by enraged residents and political party workers. The protest was led by a Congress Councillor Jyotsna Dighe, who allege that the hoarding presented a women in disgraceful manner. It is also alleged that several such obscene hoarding were being allowed throughout the sub-urban area of Mumbai.
