Brioni, the 62 year old Italian suit-maker from whom the real-state tycoon and international assassin get their suits, opened doors to the brand’s first store in India at the Oberoi Hotel, Mumbai (INDIA). Besides a range of sharply cut suits, gentlemen can acquire shirts, ties, leather goods, belts and sportswear. For the ladies, the store also offers the brand’s relatively newer women’s line.
The coup-de-grace of the brand is the made-to-measure power suit, which takes two months to craft and is pressed almost 184 times over the period. Prices, of course, are reflective of the effort. The lowest tag in the store will read Rs. 8,000, while off-the-rack suits starts at Rs. 1,90,000 and jackets at Rs. 1,50,000.
Of course, if you are handing out that kind of gravy, stop a while and consider the James Bond tux. The limited edition, inspired by the prototype Daniel Craig wore in Casino Royale, has a pistol holster in the lapel, a Velcro-sealed case in the sleeve lining - handy to store a knife - and many other secrets.
