Bond 22 is Quantum of Solace

Olga KurylenkoIt is reported that the untitled next Bond movie, known previously as Bond 22, will be called “Quantum of Solace“. The title is taken from one of a collection of five short stories published by 007 creator Ian Fleming in 1960. The other titles in that collection are — “From a View to a Kill”, “For Your Eyes Only”, “Risico” and “The Hildebrand Rarity”.

Producer Michael Wilson have promised that “Quantum of Solace” will have ‘twice as much action’ as Casino Royale, which saw Daniel Craig debut as the iconic secret agent. We would be seeing Olga Kurylenko as the new Bond Girl – Camille. Actress Gemma Arterton plays an MI6 agent in the film and has already shot her love scenes with 007.

India’s Credit Counselling with Abhay and Disha

Today morning, my wife interrupted my normal Newspaper time and told me to read an article about Defaulter Helpline. Not that I’m a defaulter nor am I chronically indebted. However, this article can be a preventive measure if you’re in a similar situation or might fall if you don’t take care of your loans, debt, credit cards usage.

I wasn’t aware that India has setup institutes where you can get Credit Counselling to reorganize your debt and prevent your income from eroding. You can overcome the debt burden and improve your money management skills too. Abhay and Disha are two initiatives, supported by the Bank of India and ICIC Bank Limited, started in early 2007. They cover the broad categories of – Financial Education, Credit Counselling and Debt Management.

How to be a smart Credit Card user

My wife knew that I’ve few Credit Cards and I’m not good at managing them – proper usage, payment schedules etc. Here are few of her babbles which she lectured me after she read some article about how to be a smart Credit Card user.

Credit card usage usually follows the predictable cycle of impulsive buying and overspending. That’s why there are many opponents as votaries of plastic money. Of course, credit cards need not be a losing proposition, if you use them smartly and safely.

Use during dire consequences

Unless you’re rich enough to flaunt your extra money, it is best to keep your Credit Card just for emergency cases. May be to use as a payment at a hospital when you don’t have enough cash in hand or your debit card account is less. However, what other events constitutes an emergency? It will depend on your individual perception but here is a rule – if you can delay buying that and won’t hurt you, it’s not an emergency.

However, todays youth believes in instant gratification, an emergency could mean buying that much-needed extra pair of jeans. This is NOT an emergency.
