Tata launches its new Indica Vista

Tata IndicaThe car manufacturing biggie, Tata Motors launched Indica Vista, the new model of their largely selling car, Indica this Saturday. The company has launched the new model in seven versions at a Delhi showroom price of Rs. 3.49 Lakhs for a 1.2 L petrol, which is for the lowest, though the highest ranges upto Rs. 4.88 Lakhs.

Rajiv Dube, President of Tata Motors announced that they plan to launch the Indica Vista in the international markets in the next six months. Though seven new variants have been launched, but the president clarified that they would not completely phase out the old versions. He stated that out of the twelve old versions, six or seven would still be available in the markets.

Tata Motors have planned to expend Rs 1,700 crores for the expansion of the production plants and have also tied up with Fiat as a complementary step. Dube added that there would not be any competition between the two car manufacturing companies and that Fiat would launch their vehicles in the premium segment.

Bachnaa Ae Haseeno, coming soon

This friday comes with a new set of movies being released at the box office. One of them, which has been making a lot of news since the time its promos have hit the floors is the Ranbir Kapoor starrer Bachna Ae Haseeno. Directed by Siddhartha Anand, of Salaam Namaste fame, the movie would have three female co-stars opposite the Saawariya debutante, namely, Bipasha Basu, Deepika Padukone and Minissha Lamba. Sources reveal that the character being portrayed by the Kapoor lass is a combination of Raj Kapoor’s role in Mera Naam Joker and Dev Anand’s in Teen Deviyan. Continue reading

Now the Mecca Masjid under CCTV serveillance

Considering the bomb blasts that have created a havoc over the country’s security, the Andhra Pradesh government has brought the Mecca Masjid at Hyderabad under the surveillance of the CCTV and has deployed twenty five security people.

The control room, which was inaugurated by The Minorities Welfare Minister, Mr. Ali Shabbir, has been built at a whopping cost of Rs3.8 million. The minorities welfare department is solely responsible for the development and maintenance of the room explaining that it was the need of the hour keeping in mind the threats from the terrorists last year, and the recent mishaps all over the country. Cell phone manufacturer Motorola has expanded itself to the music world by launching its very own music portal “Motomusic”. This online portal has been launched to give a stiff competition to the most popular online music provider Apple iTunes.

Motorola is a U.S. based mobile handset manufacturing company that makes quality handsets which has already made a mark in making music phones with a good platform and sound.

IITs may de-reserve the left out seats from next year

With the commencement of first academic year for 6 new Indian Institute of technology (IIT), there is a total increase of 720 seats in the prestigious institution, each new branch offering 120 seats. But as the percentage of students sitting for the Joint Entrance Exam (JEE) has been showing a steady rise, there is a big question mark over the huge number of seats left vacant in the reserved categories. With a number as large as 432 seats left without any eligible candidate this year, which is almost equivalent to three and a half IIT’s neither the students nor the faculty members are satisfied of the new criteria of admission as well as the storming issue of reservations.
