In a major move to help Bollywood, which is being bled by video piracy, the state government decided to take action against the pirates under the draconian Maharastra Prevention of Dangerous Activities (of slumlords, bootleggers, drug offenders and dangerous persons) Act, 1981. MPDA, as this Act is generally called, provides for preventive detention of an offender.

Mid-day carried an article – Virtual khabris to zoom-in on terrorists – they are tracking all your keystrokes, screenshots and mouse-moves at the CyberCafes.
Mumbai police will have access to new software connected to 500 cyber cafes in the city that will send them logs of every keystroke that you type and screenshots at regular interval. The result is a fallout of the investigations into the recent Hyderabad and Mumbai blasts which revealed that the planning was done using the Internet especially – chat rooms.

Haravlele Pratibimb (Lost Reflection) is a Marathi adaptation of Mahesh Elkunchwar’s Pratibimb. This play has been done and redone a couple of times earlier, however this version has been done in a drastically different stlye. Haravlele Pratibimb is directed by Chetan Datar (one of the most accomplished directors in Marathi experimental theatre). He has collaborated with classical dancers Rajree Shirke and Vaibhav Arekar to bring to us this visual treat he calls “Rang Nritya”.

Abhishek was set to marry Aishwarya on the 20th of this month. Media speculations had begun well in advance. However as the d-day drew closer, the media just lost it. I wanted to write about this last week itself, but the whole episode just made me sooooo nauseated. I mean, its not like someones getting married for the first time on this planet. The media just overdid the whole thing. Whats the big deal about a celeb getting married?
Apart from the media there was some girl claming to have married Abhishek. For lord’s sake when will these cheepos stop vying for publicity. It was a damn cheap publicity stunt.
Alright, the hoopla about the marriage was hugely exaggerated, media banked on it even if they were allowed neither inside Prateeksha nor Jalsa (both residences of the Bachchans). Forgetting about the event, I mistakenly drove along that road on my way home on the 18th April (the sangeet day) and I had to face the snarling traffic amongst the frenzy of fans, and onlookers gathering around the Bachchan’s home in Juhu.
